Introduction

US Loan & Mortgage Calculator (“the app”) is a free personal finance application that provides tools to estimate mortgage payments, loan amortization, investment growth, retirement savings and take‑home salary. This privacy policy explains what information the app collects and how that information is used, shared and protected. By installing or using the app you agree to the practices described herein. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

Data We Collect

1. Information You Provide

• Calculator Inputs. When you use one of the calculators, you enter data such as loan amount, interest rate, loan term, investment contributions, retirement age or salary details. This information stays on your device and is used only to perform calculations. We do not require you to create an account or enter personally identifiable information (such as name, email address or phone number) to use the app.
  
• PDF Export. Some calculators allow you to export results to a PDF file. To save the file, the app requests permission to write to your device’s storage. The permission is used solely to create the report in your downloads folder; the app does not read, modify or upload other files.
• In‑app Purchase Tokens. When you purchase the optional ad‑free version, Google Play may provide us with a purchase token or order ID. We store this token on your device to verify your purchase and unlock premium features. The token does not include your payment details or personal information.

2. Information Collected Automatically

• Analytics and Diagnostics. The app integrates Google’s Firebase Analytics and related services to measure usage and diagnose issues. According to Google’s documentation, Google Analytics for Firebase may collect device identifiers such as a mobile advertising ID, IDfV (on iOS), Android ID, instance ID and analytics app‑instance ID. Firebase services also collect device information and app usage data (e.g., which screens are viewed). This data is used in aggregate to understand how users interact with the app, to troubleshoot problems and to improve the app’s features. We do not use Firebase Analytics to identify individual users, and we do not log personally identifiable information.
• Advertising Data. To keep the app free, we display banner and interstitial advertisements using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Google’s SDK automatically collects and shares certain end‑user data—including IP address, user interaction information, diagnostic data and device or account identifiers—for advertising, analytics and fraud‑prevention purposes. This includes collecting the Android advertising ID, app‑set ID and other identifiers associated with signed‑in accounts. All data sent through the SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Users can reset or delete the Android advertising ID or limit ad personalisation via their device settings.
• Cookies and Similar Technologies. Advertising partners and analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies to personalise ads and measure campaign performance. These technologies are controlled by the third‑party providers; we do not directly access cookie data.

3. Permissions

The app requests only the permissions necessary to operate:

• Storage/Files: Needed to save PDF reports generated from your calculations. The app does not access other files on your device.
• Internet: Required to load ads and send anonymised analytics and diagnostic data to Firebase and the ad network.
• Billing: We request the com.android.vending.BILLING permission so that you can purchase the ad‑free version through Google Play’s billing system. We do not use this permission for any other purpose.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera or microphone.

How We Use Your Data

• Providing Calculator Functions. The numerical inputs you provide are used locally on your device to calculate results. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.
• Analytics and Improvement. Aggregated analytics data from Firebase helps us understand which calculators are most useful and identify errors so we can improve functionality. We may also use analytics to monitor app performance and stability.
• Advertising. We work with ad networks to display ads in the app. Advertising partners may use collected data (such as device identifiers and interaction data) to deliver and measure personalised or contextual advertisements. We do not control or access the data collected by these partners.
• Processing Purchases. When you purchase the ad‑free version, Google Play handles the payment process. We use the purchase token supplied by Google to verify your entitlement, remove ads and provide customer support. We do not process payments ourselves or store your full financial information.
• Compliance and Protection. We may use or disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users and the public.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share limited data with third‑party service providers only to the extent necessary to provide our services:

• Google Firebase. We share anonymous usage data with Firebase for analytics purposes. Firebase may collect device identifiers and usage information. Google’s terms require developers to disclose which Firebase services they use, abide by privacy laws and provide a compliant privacy policy.
• Advertising Partners. Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (IP address, device identifiers, user interactions and diagnostics) is shared with Google and its advertising partners. This information is used for ad selection, performance measurement and fraud detection. We do not receive the raw data collected by these partners.
• Google Play Billing. For in‑app purchases, your payment information (such as credit or debit card details) is handled directly by Google Play or its payment processors. We do not receive your full payment details. We may receive a purchase token or order ID from Google to confirm your purchase. This token does not contain personally identifiable financial data and is used only to enable premium features.
• Aggregated Data. We may share aggregated, anonymised statistics (for example, total number of app downloads or popularity of specific calculators) with partners or the public. These statistics do not identify individual users.

Data Retention

• User Inputs. Input data you enter in the calculators is not stored on our servers and is cleared when you exit the calculator or close the app.
• Analytics and Advertising Data. Firebase Analytics and advertising networks retain data according to their own retention policies. We do not have direct control over these retention periods. We retain only aggregated analytics reports as long as necessary to improve the app.
• Purchase Tokens. We retain purchase tokens or order IDs provided by Google Play as long as necessary to verify your entitlement to the ad‑free version and provide support. These tokens are stored on your device or securely in our servers, if applicable, and are not used for any other purpose.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete the information.

International Users

Although the app is intended for users in the United States, it may be downloaded globally. Data collected by Firebase, AdMob and Google Play Billing may be transferred to and processed on servers located in the United States or other countries in which Google and its service providers maintain facilities. Google states that user data is encrypted in transit using TLS.

Your Choices

• Reset Advertising ID or Limit Personalised Ads. You can reset the Android advertising ID or limit personalised ads in your device’s settings.
  
• Analytics Opt‑Out. Some devices allow you to limit analytics collection. You can also follow Google’s instructions for opting out of Firebase Analytics collection.
• Control of Inputs. You may choose not to enter data into the calculators, though this will prevent the calculators from providing results. You can delete generated PDF reports at any time via your device’s file manager.
• Manage Purchases. You can review and manage your in‑app purchases, restore purchases and request refunds through your Google Play account settings. Google’s support pages provide detailed instructions on how to view order history and request refunds.
• Data Deletion. Because we do not store your personal information on our servers and analytics and advertising data is collected and retained by third‑party providers (such as Google Firebase, Google Mobile Ads and Google Play Billing), we cannot delete that data on your behalf. If you wish to remove any data associated with your Google Play account or advertising ID, please follow the deletion or reset instructions provided by Google and other service providers.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information transmitted through the app. Data sent via Firebase, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google Play Billing is encrypted in transit using TLS. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure; therefore we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The app may contain links to external websites or resources (for example, our support email address). These links are provided for convenience. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third‑party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those sites before providing them with any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the policy. If the changes are material, we will notify you via the app or other appropriate channels. Continuing to use the app after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
